Where is Your Sting?

Have you ever been in a season where the weight of everything feels unbearable? Where you lie awake at night, staring at the ceiling, wondering how you’re supposed to face the next day? Maybe you’ve been haunted by fear, carried the burden of grief, or faced a setback that makes you feel like the ground beneath you is shaking.

I’ve been there, too. In those moments, it feels like fear is the loudest voice, like pain is the only thing that defines us. I know the sting of heartbreak, the ache of loss, the quiet fear that lingers, making you question whether things will ever feel whole again.

But, here’s the thing: there’s something powerful, something that changes everything, when we realize that the sting doesn’t have to hold us anymore.

Do you remember that verse from 1 Corinthians 15:55? It says, “Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?” It’s a bold declaration. It’s not just some distant victory to look forward to when we die. It’s a truth we can walk in right now, today.

What if the sting of pain, fear, and loss no longer had power over us? What if we could walk through those moments knowing that the victory is already won?

It’s not that we won’t face hard things. We will. We will face moments that make us want to give up. But in those very moments, we have a Savior who defeated death, who overcame fear, and who whispers, “You don’t have to let this break you. You don’t have to let this steal your peace. I’ve already won.”

I’ve had days where I felt like I was drowning in my emotions, where fear was louder than truth. But in those moments, I had to remind myself that the victory is already here. The sting of fear is swallowed up in the hope of Jesus.

And you know what? I think sometimes we need to ask ourselves: “Where is your sting, fear? Where is your victory, death?” Because in Christ, it’s not theirs to hold anymore.

The truth is, we don’t have to let fear and pain define us. Even in the midst of the mess, we can stand firm in the victory that Jesus won for us. His love and presence are stronger than anything that tries to bring us down.

Let’s end with this powerful verse, as a reminder of where our strength lies:

“The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?” – Psalm 27:1

With love,

Sarah xx.
