We All Struggle...
There are always going to be struggles and hardships in our lives. Different seasons bring different challenges. It could be grief, sickness, mental illness, addictions, financial hardships, broken families… the list goes on and on. And as I age, I see it more and more clearly.
There is not one person out there that is not facing their very own struggle. When we ask outside of ourselves and speak to those around us, their fights become known and my heart reaches out in solidarity. What I am learning, is this…
How we look at our struggles is how we will conquer them. I choose each day to find joy and peace in the the hard. In the beginning it takes work. A conscious choice to speak good words and direct the focus to good thoughts. It takes effort to remember to think of all the things you are grateful for to combat the negative. But slowly, your mind begins to focus on the blessings sprinkled into your life.
My Joy comes from knowing that Jesus gave me life. I will pour my thanksgiving and praises out to the One who gave His life for me and offered me grace. My joy is sharing his love with others no matter what comes against me. I choose to keep my eyes above my circumstances and focused on Jesus. That is my joy.
My peace comes from knowing that through every struggle, the ones of the past, the present and the future… that God has, is and will be with me always. My peace comes from knowing that I will never walk alone, ever. Even if I feel alone, I know that is not God’s truth.
I don’t know what struggle you are going through, but I know the one who does. He sees and feels the struggles of every child that is walking out their purpose on this earth. Thank him today, ask him to wash joy and peace over you today and pray for someone else going through their own struggles today, that God would cover them also.
