The 5 D’s…
Have you ever read something and then completely forgotten where you read it? This post comes from memory alone so bear with me.
I remember reading about the 5 D’s that the Devil uses as a strategy to keep us from our calling and as my eyes wandered over the words, I could see how I have and can be affected by many of them if I don’t remain vigilant and aware. So here they are…
Distraction- Makes the wrong things seem attractive so you want them or are drawn to them more than the things of God.
Doubt- Makes you question God’s word and goodness.
Discouragement- Makes you look or focus on the problem rather than God.
Delay- Makes you put things off so they never get done.
Defeat- Makes you feel like a failure so you start to question why you should even try.
And let me tell you, in today’s world these are great strategies along with more I’m sure to miss. But God’s strategies are greater and we are so blessed to have His word at our fingertips to refer to when we need in any circumstance.
So kick these D strategies to the ground and focus on what the Lord tells us. We have purpose and we don’t need to believe the lies of the enemy because Jesus has overcome for us.
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will - Romans 12:2
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” -John 16:33
I pray this encourages everyone who reads this today! Be blessed, be a light 💡
