It’s been a long season… A season of holding on, bracing ourselves against the unrelenting storms, and closing in to protect our hearts from the onslaught of fiery darts. So many of us are weary, worn, beyond tired, with battle wounds marked across our flesh. Some of those wounds run deep, while others are hidden beneath layers of defense we’ve built to shield ourselves from the endless attacks.
For others, the battlefield has been the mind—an unrelenting assault of lies and accusations. The enemy has whispered for so long that it almost feels like truth. The lies swirl faster than we can capture them, leaving us feeling like we’re unraveling. Our thoughts spin out of control, and our identity seems just out of reach, elusive and fragile.
But I felt from the Lord today to speak this out: It’s time to unfurl.
It’s time to pull that God-given strength from the depths, the strength that has been planted in us for such a time as this. The strength that has sustained us, even when we didn’t think we could make it another day. The strength that is not our own but comes from the One who never grows weary, who never falters, who never loses sight of us in the storm.
In the middle of the battle, it’s easy to curl inward, to retreat into survival mode. We hold tight to what little we feel we have left, and we close our hearts off to keep from being hurt again. But God is calling us out. He is pouring out fresh oil upon our heads, anointing us for the next chapter of the journey.
It’s time to unfurl.
We can no longer stay wrapped in fear, closed off to the world, bracing for the next attack. We’ve been in this place of protection for a season, but it’s not meant to last forever. The Lord is calling us to stand again, to open up, and to step forward in faith. He’s calling us to rise in His strength, not our own, to stretch out the weary parts of our hearts and trust that He is with us.
The enemy would love for us to believe that we are too broken, too worn, too tired to keep going. He would have us believe that the wounds we carry are signs of defeat, that we’ve lost ourselves along the way. But those battle scars are not signs of failure. They are marks of resilience, of a faith that has endured, of a soul that has fought hard and refused to give in to the darkness.
God is the healer of our wounds, the One who binds up our brokenness and pours His Spirit into the places where we are empty. He is the One who lifts our heads when we cannot lift them ourselves, the One who renews our strength like the eagle’s.
And so today, I believe He is saying: Unfurl, beloved. Open your heart to what I am doing. You are not defeated. You are not broken beyond repair. You are mine, and I am pouring fresh oil upon you. I am renewing you for what is ahead. Do not fear. Do not hide away. It is time to stand again in the strength I have given you.
For too long, we have been in survival mode, and while there is a time for retreat and for rest, there is also a time to rise. A time to stretch out, to unfold the places that have grown tight and weary, and to embrace the fresh strength God is pouring out. He is not asking us to rise in our own power but in His. He is not calling us to go back into battle on empty but is filling us with new oil, new hope, new vision.
The battle has been fierce, but God is fiercer still. And in His strength, we can unfurl. We can stand in the fullness of who He has called us to be. We can let go of fear, knowing that the One who is with us is greater than the one who is against us.
So, if you’re feeling weary, know this: God sees you. He knows the wounds you carry, the exhaustion you feel, and He is not leaving you where you are. He is calling you to unfurl, to let His strength fill the deepest parts of you, and to rise again.
“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint” (Isaiah 40:31).
It’s time to unfurl, to pull from the depths the strength God has already placed inside of you. He is with you, He is for you, and He is pouring out fresh oil upon your head, making a way where there seems to be no way. Rise up, beloved. It’s time.
