Ever thought about how God meets you in the mess of every day life?
I spent so much time trying to carve out time to go into my quiet place and spend true, uninterrupted time with Him. I would read of the men in the Bible, like Moses and Jesus that sought time in the mountains and the wilderness… just them and Him in full peace.
But for women… that can be an almost impossible thing to do. I barely have time to have a thought to myself let alone wander into the secret place. I would feel so guilty that at the end of a day, I climb into bed exhausted and hadn’t slowed down enough to just sit in His presence. And when I did find a moment, my mind was distracted with all the things I still had to get done. Finding balance is not my thing…
Because, we are always busy, making meals, school runs, shopping, working jobs, running the household, tending to the needs of others, trying to make family comfortable, maintaining friendships and the list doesn’t end.
But… God sees this. He values this, even when the world doesn’t. And when I look through the scriptures I find the most beautiful moments where the Lord finds the women and goes to them.
Hagar, at her lowest and unsure where to go, He sent an angel and meets her in the desert. The woman at the well, He offers her living water. When the women go to the tomb to prepare Jesus’ body, He meets them there.
This is the goodness of God. He meets women in the ordinary and mundane things of our everyday. The dishes, the washing, the car trips, the doctors office, grocery shopping, the moments where we are serving those around us and looking after His children and ourselves. That is how faithful He is, because He knows our burdens and the weight we carry and He sees our hearts and the time we long to spend with Him. We don’t need those mountain moments, because sisters, God gives us those encounter moments in the middle of our every day moments.
*Be blessed, be a light and remember to always share the goodness of God.
