I’m sure God has given me a supermarket aisle ministry (Grocery Store). Sounds crazy, right? But I’m telling you, there have been so many times I have walked down an aisle and spotted someone who was crying and offered to pray for them. Someone can’t reach the top shelf? I will happily reach for them, and before long I’m talking to them about God. I see a mama struggling with her kids and the trolley; I’ll offer to push the cart and load them into her car. There have even been times I’m sitting at home and felt this pressing to drive into town to the store. Not that I needed anything, but God knew that someone needed me. There have even been times I’ve run into old friends and restored relationships.
Dear one, it doesn’t matter where your ministry lies. When God is in control and you’re sensitive to His nudging, He is going to send you where you need to be. It can sometimes be scary. Do you think in the beginning I wanted to approach a stranger and then offer to pray? Nope, nope, nope. But God… He gives you the courage to do amazing, life-changing things.
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. — Galatians 6:9
Your ministry might not look like what you expected, but trust that God has a purpose for you. Embrace the opportunities He gives you, even if they seem small or out of the ordinary. You never know how a simple act of kindness can touch someone's heart and change their life.
So, the next time you’re at the supermarket, remember that God might be using you in ways you can’t even imagine. Be open to His leading, be courageous in your actions, and watch how He works through you to bless others.
So here’s my question to you… where do you find God sends you or asks you to reach out? I would love for you to share in the comments!
*Once again, thank you for journeying with me here at Little Sparrow Loved, it means so much to me that you are here and embracing this space where I get to share my heart and make God the hero of my story. Please continue to share this space with others, it’s such a blessing to me and hopefully encouragement for them. If you would like to support my writing a little more, consider becoming a Sparrow with a paid membership, love Sarah xx.
God has used me to volunteer in a cafe. Like you, its amazing the people who come in that you can help. God works in mysterious ways if you are willing to hear Him.
This reminder is so powerful. Thank you. ❤️ There is a world of hurt out there and we who have come through great darkness carry an endless torch of light. ❤️ We are not called to do great things but we are called to do a great many things, such as bringing light to a precious soul at the grocery store. This reminds me of a trip to the hospital for a PT/CT Scan four years back. A dear lady, looking tired and weary sat across from me. She had an amputated foot and the leg above was giving her a great deal of pain, amongst other areas. We spoke of our scans, and she shared some of her story. She was sad and feeling that she was useless and had no purpose. Why do you seem so calm, she asked me. I said because we were sitting there together at that moment, I knew that we both still had purpose. Oh the smile on her face. Hope. The Lord knows who needs us, and what we need for sure. 🌻
