Oh lovely, I want to remind you of something important today. It’s okay to feel all the things. The heaviness. The anger. The sadness. The joy. The confusion. All of it. There’s no shame in feeling what you feel. In fact, it’s part of being human.
I’ve learned, though, that the beauty isn’t in the feelings themselves, but in what we choose to do with them. You see, feelings are like waves—they come and go. Sometimes they crash down, and other times they simply roll in gently. But no matter how they come, we don’t have to be swept away by them. We can feel them, acknowledge them, but we don’t have to live by them.
Here’s a truth about myself I’m exposing. I lived by my emotions, so tangled they dictated my day and decisions. Logic… usually came too late. And when it finally did? I couldn’t stop long enough to talk sense into anything. The feelings had already taken over, steering me into places I never intended to go.
And then, in the midst of it all, I’d stop and remember—this doesn’t have to be my truth. I don’t have to be ruled by the emotions, as real and powerful as they are. The beauty isn’t in them, but in what I choose to believe in the midst of them.
Feel the feelings, but live by truth.
And here’s a reminder: You are loved. You are chosen. You are fully seen, not because of what you feel in a moment, but because of who you are in Christ. Your worth isn’t up for negotiation based on what you’re going through. Your feelings don’t change that.
I’ve had seasons where it felt like nothing made sense. Where I questioned everything—my choices, my relationships, my future. But in those moments, I chose to let God’s truth be louder than my emotions. I chose to remind myself that my identity isn’t defined by how I’m feeling that day.
You can feel the frustration of a day gone wrong but still live by the truth that God is faithful and His plans are always good. You can feel lost but know that God’s Word is a lamp to your feet, guiding you through every shadow. You can feel weak but live in the truth that His strength is made perfect in your weakness.
When we stop and remember who God says we are, everything changes. The feelings don’t lose their weight, but they no longer carry the power to define our lives. They don’t control us; God’s truth does.
So, lovely, if you’re in a place where your feelings are screaming louder than your faith today, I want to encourage you: feel them, but don’t let them rule you. Let truth rule. Let God’s promises be what you cling to when everything else feels uncertain.
Take a deep breath and remember: You are more than your feelings. You are loved, you are strong, you are set apart. And above all, God is faithful, always.
Let’s talk, lovely—what truths are you holding onto today?
Love, Sarah x.
