Have you felt it—that quiet ache beneath the sparkle of the season? The ache that whispers there’s something more, something we’re meant to hold onto amid the frenzy? Christmas, for so many, has become about glittering lights, wish lists, and hurried schedules. But if we’re honest, none of that fills the void.
Have we forgotten the stable? Have we forgotten Him?
That first Christmas wasn’t about extravagance. It was about necessity. Humanity needed saving, and God sent His Son—not wrapped in wealth or adorned with grandeur, but swaddled in simplicity, laid in a manger, surrounded by the sounds of livestock and whispered prayers.
Jesus came because we needed Him. We still do.
The truth is, the world is unstable. It always has been. Wars rage, hearts break, and questions linger. But Christmas reminds us there is one unshakable foundation. Jesus is the Rock, the Prince of Peace who brings calm to chaos and hope to despair.
Christmas is remembrance. It’s the moment when we pause to acknowledge the greatest gift ever given—the Son of God stepping into our brokenness to redeem us. It’s not about what we create or how perfectly we celebrate; it’s about what we’ve already received. “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life” -John 3:16
This year, I don’t want my family to lose sight of that. I don’t want my children to grow up thinking Christmas is about the noise or the traditions. I want them to know it’s about the Savior who came for them—for all of us.
But this isn’t just for our family. The world needs to hear this too.
We live in a time where hope feels scarce and peace feels impossible. The message of Christmas—of Jesus stepping into history to save us—isn’t just a tradition to hold in our hearts; it’s a truth to share with others.
So this Christmas, I’m inviting my family, my friends, and even my neighbors into the awe of what was gifted to us. I want us to linger near the stable and marvel at the love of a God who chose to come so close. And as we do, I want to live in a way that reflects His peace and hope to the world around us.
The stable wasn’t just a beginning—it was a promise. A promise that God is with us. A promise that His love never fails. This Christmas, let’s cling to that promise and let it be the influence that shapes our hearts, our homes, and the world we touch.
Love Sarah x.
*Thank you so much for showing up every post! I know I can post a lot, (I kind of live here) but I love my amazing tribe and all the likes, shares and comments you offer in support of this space. All I have to offer are my heart words, and I hope that’s enough. Please take a moment to encourage someone else today, that could always use this encouragement. If you would like to keep this Christian creator… creating, and writing for the Kingdom. Please pray about becoming a paid supporter (totally optional of course) it blesses more than you could ever know.
Something about this one just had me thinking. I've been unemployed since May. My husband has been struggling to take off with his photography business for just as long. The second half of this year has had struggle written all over it. Since the beginning of November, I've found myself fretting over not being able to afford Christmas presents for, at the least, my nieces and nephews. But this post - your words... I'm so thankful God placed you in my path. Because these words - they really have me thinking that maybe He's had us right here in this struggle to force us to slow down, to remember Him, to remember Jesus. Not just during the Christmas season - but to remember to lean into Him in all of our heart-wrenching struggles. Thank you for the reminder 🩷
So beautifully written. May I listen for God's whisper amid the busyness and draw near to Him this season.
